News 2006:

(newest on top)

31 Dec 2006: The year is ended. I got 8000 visits in first 6 months of life, not bad!!   This jear was the starting year , year where I learned how to do things, and year where I created many modifications for lathe and mill...  plus some important project as the indoor bike trainer and others.   2007, will be year of numbers, I am planning to mount a DRO on lathe and mill, plus some intresting complicated projec... stay tuned, and thanks to all of you for your visits at Rulezman Workshop. I leave the year showing you a funny picture: World record of chip aggregate!! (picture taken at somepoint during 2006 ) it seems to me addams family cousin!! or Mr Pizza (space balls movie)

25 Dec 2006 : merry christmas to all of you, with this CNCized tree ! (made by a friend of mine, few months ago!)

15 Dec 2006: I started to break down all the machines in small parts to be ready to send them to italy soon. As wrote few days ago I have to change house and the workshop must be transferred to the new house too.... From today's date I will not do any modifications until the RULEZMAN WORKSHOP 2.0 will be setted up. I will keep to update the web site with the friends projects, and with few photos of the big move from uk to italy with a whole metal workshop !

Added two friends new projects: thanks to Martin De Roode AKA MAJOSOFT for the perfect knurling tool project and thanks to Makoto Ishimura for the incredible Rotary talbe project he made!

14 Dec 2006: Another usefull small project is completed, I have just finished 4 small supports to clamp the vice on the mill table. I planned this modification since the first day but I had time only now to make it true!! As second day project I have completed a carriage lock lever that replace the old and tired allen key as many users still do!

What I will give myself as christmas gift ?? I am thinking a DRO for lathe and mill and a new ALGRA toolpost with 10 toolholders... stay tuned then!!

13 Dec 2006: after many days of problems I finally replaced the lathe topside bolts, from some crap quality original one to stainless steel one. I read few reviews about the sieg topside bolts and all of those agreed that they are made of soft steel. why!?!? anyway now two steel bolts are in place. if you are a C6b SIEG owner do the same before you destroy the originals!!  (check late page for more infos)

12 Dec 2006: for all the serious metal workers I have researched the orginal dickson tool posts, and I have fount who sale the toolpost. I know there are other brands around, as BISON poland, but the original dickson is still in production, crawfor collets uk is the main dealer. there is a really good italian company, ALGRA , that makes a similar toolpost as the dickson one. this company makes a really goor product as good as the dickson one, probably more precise and professional, the price is high as the dickson one too!! The Bison, poland, is a cheaper alernative to the dickson brand... I think I go ith that soon!!.  Technology goes on and improve. algra is the result: a dickson style toolpost with the modern technology. dickson is name of great professionality but no one dickson toolpost has the perfect finish of the algras!!!!

DICKSON ORIGINAL TOOL POSTS CATALOG, and ALGRA  (tool posts) components catalogs  ADDED on the download page.

10 Dec 2006: Makoto Ishimura is working on his CNC mill modification, he will share to us the whole project in the next few weeks, stay tuned !! About me, I am finishing the tailstock camlock looking system that needs a lever with a nice one ball on top (yes I pay pool and I love to have the mini balls on top of the levers. If you watch Steve Bedair project probably you want to make your one balls, but I am happy with the pool sytel numbered plastic balls!!

9 Dec 2006:I have created a page to show projects made by friends and  guests. The first friend to share one of his projects is Steve Bedair, showing us a really well made ball turning toolpost: Steve, watch out I am gonna make my own one copying yours!!!  :) The page is accessible from the main menu of the site.

7 Dec 2006: today and previous days I have done and completed the tailstock camlock looking system and I have to say that is probably the most usefull modification I ever made. After 6 months using the tailstock with a wrenche, having troubles every 5 minutes with the yellow tail clamp... now I solved all these problems, with a smooth, fast, precise modification. it will be a pleasure to move the tailstock now, not like before that was a nightmare!!!   TRUST ME, DO THE CAMLOCK SYSTEM ON YOUR TAILSTOCK too!!

20 Nov 2006: Indoor bike trainer project is finished. great work on few parts such as the stem and the crankset adapters, all made with lathe and millingmachine! take a look at the dedicated page.

18 Nov 2006: I have a bad news about the workshop! I am gonna change house in spring 2006, so I have to break down the whole workshop to move it from Scotland to Italy. I am planning to buy a trailer to carry all the machines onto it . When in italy I will find a place where to setup again the workshop.. but all this will keep myself far from creations for a while...   :( As I say somewhere in the website, the workshop is something that has no time, I mean that I will use it all my life, maybe with few big pauses periods, but the good things to have one is be able to create when needed to!

10 November 2006: After a long time away from home I am back! Sorry to everybody for having forgot about the website but I was in hospital first and the holidays then.... I will continue with my projects soon, so stay tuned!! the indoor bike trainer projects is close to be finished and soon I will make the web page.    I still have to finish the lathe control box that I plan to finish this winter. Still to finish also the helicopter headset that now are in the "paint" shop (my shed) for the magic paint scheme.

26 Ago 2006: using the coolant on the milling machine when the cutter pin at 2000 rpm makes a MEGAMESS, water that goes everywhere!!! I upgraded the mil shields, with two more lateral shields, now the cutter is 360° shielded and I can use coolant without making a mess..... today I worked on the mill external control unit... and before I lifted the mill to move the tray in a better position... updated the coolant page with two small holes into the mill table to let the water to go out from the T slots bays.

23 Ago 2006: Coolant system finished , after few days of work...and tests!!
