Wow, this is an amazing project from Mario Petralli a real model engineer/maker, which loves trains and is so able to create things from scratch!

He made a superb 1:11 Scale Steam locomotive.

As I can see from photos he sent me, (sorry for the bad ITA to EN translation) he started to work with some wood boards, to create a negative model of the steam tank, to be able to bend the copper sheet properly.

The wood model is used to bend and shape the copper 3mm thick sheet, which is gonna be the internal and external part of the steam fire tank

This photos shows the results of the brass modelling onto the wood blocks

The main tank receve the threated parts, prevoisusly made and then welded onto the main body. These threads eyelets will be used to mount all the gages and valves.

water pipes are already welded here, to the rear internal part of the tank

same part, but frontal view this time. Please note all the welding spots to attach the pipes to the right (front) round part.

The steam engine is almost done here. few more welds and that's it!

Super beautiful engine is now mounted onto the train bodyframe.

more work in progress..

stay tuned...
