TOOL BOX N 1 2 3 4
(JULY TO DEC 2006)
JOB DONE MAN!!
the first project done with the mill is this foam work to make a good and organized box for cutters, drills, arbors and more.
the foam material is very hard to machine, maybe more than steel, this is because it tends to wrap the cutter : machining must be done using high speeds (1500 rpm) keeping one hand on the quill lever and the other one on the stop emergency button!!
this is the foam piece clamped on the table.
after one hour and few cuts with a manual cutter, this is the result. I am very happy about this 10 gbp box!!!
the second tool box is for drills and taps.... 1 to 25 HSS and M3 to M16 with drill bits attached..
the third tool box is for the lathe tools, at the moment I have only the gears and few indexable tips but I am gonna put in the center area all the toolholders
the fourth toolbox is the heaviest one. I had to cut a piece of wood 10mm thick to make stronger the bottom of the box.
this toolbox is for rotary table, extra chuck, rotary table dividers, and rotary table tailstock..
