JOB DONE MAN!!
I got this set from chronos uk.
the set is a full kit of rotary table, dividers, tailstock and clamping nuts, with manual.
the first things I saw wrong are the clamping surfaces that are too large for my X3 Tslot table.. I had to extend the existing slot for about 10mm each side,. internal side.
this is the table before the machining.... is easy to see that the X3 T slots are too close each other to works with the rotary clamping slots..
but....now the table is perfect to be positioned and clamped on my X3 table.
a closer view of the slots. The original are 14mm wide but I have extended them with a 12mm endmill.
This is because I am gonna use M10 bolts, and a 14mm slot is too big for it. 12mm is enough for me. I prefer to have closer slots with less play.
The following photos are just some details of the SOBA rotary table. I think is made quite good...
another important thing to modify is the old 125mm chuck, that must be mounted on top of the rotary table!!!
I am doing two 8mm holes to clamp with bolt/nut system the chuck....
look at it.. (starting with slot mill....)
and finishing full length with cobalt drill, 8mm
chuck mounted on the table... it works!! (must be centered with DTI, prior use)
