29 Dec 2007 : the turret base is completed: it is incredible to see my sieg lathe to remove 3 mm each pass on 314 series steel!! this is not a dream but is a gift of my new turret base that gives to the lathe a super stiff compound able to do heavy cuts without any vibration!!!

This modification is a must for CNC-ized lathes, where the topslide compound is not required at all!!

28 dec 2007 :  More work on the turret base, stay tuned the work is gonna be completed in the next few days... I have added a new section in the web site: VIDEO page !!!!

27 Dec 2007: I have started today a new project: “a solid turret base”, the Sieg lathe top slide compound is not really strong and it causes the lathe to vibrates a lot during hard stress machining, this is why I decided to create a big block of steel that will replace the whole top slide giving my lathe a super strength. Of course I am gonna loose the ability of turning inclined surfaces, but in case I need to make a strange piece I can easy mount back the soft topslide compounds. More photos of the project soon!!

26 Dec 2007: I have added  some PDFs in the download area. It is good to read books when outside is cold and damp!! So come on check out all the pdfs , click and read all of them , there is lot of interesting material about how to machine and or technical manuals.

25 Dec 2007: MERRY CHRISTMAS  TO ALL THE METALWORKERS, AND GOOD DREAMS CREATORS AROUND THE WORLD !!  thanks for giving me these first 22000+ visits since I have started all this .  I am just switching to this new version of rulezman.com web site. It is more “steel” looking, it is easier to browse, more crisp, clear. just as the mac is !

20 Nov 2007 : Today I have been doing an easy task to modify a nikkor lens ring. check out the new page layout too,  I am starting to convert the old site into a new looking one!! cool stuff.....

15 Nov 2007 : 20.000 Visits reached. Thanks to all of you again.

20 Oct 2007 : SAD DAY ! I was doing such a nice job on the mini algra toolpost and once completed the first V slide-way I have discovered that the HALL countersink (90°) completely fu**ed up the mini algra project (QCTP), because the countersink is not 90° as indicated but it is a shallow nonlinear 100-105° The slide-way is now damaged forever and I must start the project from another block of steel. many thanks to HALL tools (CRAP STUFF from now to me !!)

19 Oct 2007 : another indexable toolholder completed. This time I have finished the CNMG size 12 holder that will be used for heavy cuts, interrupted cuts, and tough jobs. check out the page for more photos. it seem to me that I creating a nice set of lath tools!! look at here!!!

18 Oct 2007 : Let me introduce the new section created, with GUESTS (ammirators) emails. !! I am so happy if you contact me. thanks for watching. we are now close to 20K visits !!

17 oct 2007 : Let me say sorry to all my readers for these last few weeks where I am not producing too many things here at rulezman workshop but I have been busy with some important life things. Anyway, these last 2 days I worked on two small insert holders for the lathe. The first one made is a holder for DNMG insert size 11. The second one is the classic CNMG negative insert holder size 12 . Check out the DNMG finished just today!

15 sept 2007 : I have finally completed the parting off bade holder that match my ALGRA quick change tool post (QCTP). This is one of the best project ever made because it will be so useful in my workshop !! check out photos and description on the dedicated page.

I would like to say thanks to all of you "watchers" that are still sending me greetings about my web site. I am proud of this and I will keep the site turning ! as the lathe does !! dave.

12-13 Jun 2007: The algra Quick Change Tool Post (AKA QCTP ) is a super professional tool holder, but unfortunately there is no spare toolholder available at catalog to hold the 25.2mm parting off blade that I have (seco and sandvik...) I am gonna make my own personal blade holder starting off a crap piece of metal, this is gonna be another interesting project!! lot of slots, vee ways, and more, check it out!!

8 Jun 2007: I have started the operations to create a mini (micro) dickson style tool holder for the unimat lathe. this is gonna be a crazy project !! really difficult machining steps, tricky stuff for the man who likes tricky things !! (myself).... stay tuned... (another video added at the site....) check out the mini algra page.

8 Jun 2007: it is time to spend few hours to create one of the many things than must be created , here at rulezman workshop! Today I am starting to build the second too holder indexable. The first one was made few month ago and was the threading toolholder for 16 size insert, today I work on an easy 16*16 VBMT toolholder. It will be : SVVBN 1616K (international nomenclature ) .

6 March 2007 : New web site address (domain) for this web site. The new ultimate one is   www.rulezman.com  , easier and faster address to remember and type.

if you have some link please update it with the new one. I will leave for one year the old address with a link inside to this new one. thanks

March 2007: New modifications on mill and lathe... the DRO (Digial ReadOut System) system is getting shape !!  lot of brain work is required to mount the etched glass linear scales. the only way to get precision is to mount the scales with highest precision. Mounting the scales is not an easy task. Mounting could be completed from anyone, but only few knows how to get best results from scales. I saw projects many ways on the net but I doubt that those are precise and calibrated as I am gonna do..  Mounting is not only fixing two ends and one sensor. Mounting is to study the best place for scales to get less work problems in future, mounting is to plan the best position to avoid coolant, user hands, and more. I have planned more than one week to find and draw the best positions and clamps sizes. The result of this is a really "clean", "precise" and "useful" work which I think is the best (of course best seen in internet...) mounting system for dro.

stay tuned , I will report a complete page for this in the next few days. X3 mill Dro will be first, then... lathe!

3 March 2007: motox engine started for first time!!! after one months of work!! so good....
