LATHE DIGITAL RPM/SFM DISPLAY
(MARCH 2007)
JOB DONE MAN!!
Since I am gonna work using tipped tools it is becoming important to know the RPM and then SFM of workpiece..
The best way to install a tachulator on the sieg C6b is to buy the TREXXON tachos available at http://mkctools.com
this is the kit received....(I got two of them)
Today I am installing this first one on the lathe, and probably another day in future I will do same on the mill...
let's start machining the already customized front panel, using for the first time the brand new DRO just installed on the mill...
this is the result, after half an hour...
now I am gonna work on the lathe installing a small 240 tov 12v adapter and wiring it from back of lathe to the front core unit
the sensor is held by a simple aluminum flat bar twisted and fixed with an M5 screw...
voilà!
the aluminum tape is attached onto the spindle body and a bit of black tape is attached onto the aluminum surface as a turning marker.
the front surface of the lathe cover is now black using an adhesive film...
let's test the tachos now...
YO!! IT IS WORKING, at FIRST ATTEMPT!! yeah
Top speed for the 800w lathe motor is 3100 rpm at spindle.....!!
cool
